Support Solutions is delighted to announce our annual National Housing Support & Social Care Conference at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham on 23rd March 2010. If you are involved in providing or commissioning housing, social care and support services for vulnerable people you should be there! This is an ideal networking and learning opportunity. We all find ourselves trying to navigate a Maze of Change. The primary outcome for this conference is that delegates should emerge with their own map of the maze and with more clarity as to the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead. We have identified 3 key themes which we will run as workshops which every delegate should be able to attend: - Personalisation & the wider change agenda
- Tendering for services
- Revenue for servces
We will end the day with an expert panel "Question Time" session to challenge, inspire & pull together the day's thinking, reflect on the challenges and produce a Manifesto for Moving Forward. Panel members will include Michael Patterson (Director, Support Solutions), Gill Brown (Social Entrepreneur and CEO of Stoke-based Brighter Futures), Peter Threlfall (Supporting People Lead at Wigan Council), & Maurice Condie (CEO of Byker Bridge HA in Newcastle & former NHF Board Member). We can arrange reduced rate, good quality hotel accommodation for delegates who need it and will organise a free pre-conference evening reception at the hotel for delegates who choose to stay there. You do not have to stay at the hotel to attend the pre-conference reception
You can download a booking form by clicking here and to download a flyer click here. Who Should Attend? Anyone involved in providing or commissioning housing support & social care services for vulnerable people. Often these will be services which are funded at least in part through Supporting People and will be important to the Personalisation agenda. What will the Outcomes be? Delegates should leave with a clear understanding of the new arrangements with and within which they will be working. Providers should develop clarity about how to evolve and move forward in a demanding new environment where funding will not be ringfenced and strategic relevance will be defined by a much wider set of local targets. Commissioners will be able to see how preventative and enabling services for vulnerable people improve quality of life at individual and community level, fulfil Local Area Agreement targets and also save a lot of money. Support Solutions has always believed in the value of good quality research and information which we often provide free to the sector. This event will be no exception and delegates will be provided with valuable CD-based resource packs to supplement the discussions, debates and thinking at the conference. How Much Does it Cost? The delegate rate, including refreshments, lunch and delegate pack is £175 inclusive of VAT. How Do I Book?
