Following our very successful national and in-house Tendering & Procurement events in 2007 & 2008 in England and Scotland (over 1500 delegates), we are pleased to announce a further series of updated 1 day events for 2008. These will cover similar practical issues as previously, but with new examples drawn from processes we have been involved in delivering during 2007-08 (e.g. Framework contract bids; added emphasis towards Outcomes; negotiated arrangements etc).. The new one day events are as follows: These one day events are primarily intended for Providers who are anticipating needing to tender for existing or new services, but they are also valuable for SP Team members who need to develop their understanding of the issues and processes involved. Event outcomes will include: - An understanding of the legal basis behind tendering and how local authorities interpret it
- A knowledge of "the market" , how tendering has affected it and how to manage and work effectively within it
- A set of tools, knowledge & skills based on an information & discussion approach to training
- An understanding of options available to tenderers and available market intelligence
- An understanding of how local authorities evaluate tenders
- Equipping both SP teams and Bidders to better manage the process and deliver a successful Tender.
