Help for elderly people preparing for cold weather
- 14 Nov
Liverpool Mutual Homes has been handing out hot water bottles, fleece blankets and hot drink sachets to its elderly and vulnerable tenants.
Alongisde the housing association is its maintenance company, Housing Maintenance Solutions, who are taking to the streets to hand out packs to residents that are aged 80 and over to ensure they are fully prepared for winter.
In the packs tenants will also find a dynamo torch and information leaflets providing heating, health and financial advice, reports 24dash.
The social landlord has also donated £2,000 to charity Local Solutions to help fund 500 packs to vulnerable residents of all ages.
Liverpool Mutal Home's director of housing and customer services, Angela Forshaw, has said "The winter months can be unforgiving for many tenants especially the elderly and vulnerable. The tangible items in the Winter Warmth packs will help people fight the cold and feel warmer while the information leaflets will give valuable advice and demonstrates support is available. This is the third year we have carried out the Winter Warmth campaign and it has always been very welcomed."
