The Briefing Issue 9: Strategic Positioning in a Time of Change.

Welcome to the final free issue of The Briefing: the electronic journal for the Third Sector. It's been a while since we last published, which says much about how busy we are, but we're pleased to relaunch The Briefing.

Issue 9 includes articles on the changing environment within which the sector must operate, tendering, the Refreshed QAF, Outcomes, sheltered housing wardens, Housing Benefit and much more. Just click on the links to the left to download the articles you want to read.

This issue has as its theme "Strategic Positioning in a Time of Change", which also informs the theme of our Annual National Conference (see opposite).

Conference & Forum

National Conference:

Support Solutions will be holding our 1st National Conference on 23rd March 2010 at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham. The conference theme will be "How to Survive & Thrive Within the Brave New World of Funding & Commissioning" and we chose this theme because of the fundamental changes that are occurring in the environment within which providers and commissioners of housing, support and social care operate.

Success in the new working arrangements will depend much on the relationships, communications and networks between providers and commissioners of services and supports for vulnerable people. This conference will look to encourage and facilitate relationships, communication and networking between commissioners and providers.
