£3m Spent on Housing Homeless in Hotels
Westminster City Council has spent over £3 million on temporary accommodation for homeless people in six months.
This is because they have had to house people in expensive hotels while waiting for accommodation to become available.
Westminster City Council has the most homeless families in temporary accommodation of all London councils.Between October 2012 and March 2013, this service became so overloaded that they had to use expensive hotels to house people while waiting for accommodation to become available.
