The retrenchment of the Supporting People budget and supported housing revenue in general has reinforced the importance of ensuring that providers receive their correct Housing Benefit entitlement. In addition, however, the advent of Local Area Agreements means that providers may need to look at a wider range of other revenue sources given the effective disappearance of Supporting People Grant as a distinct revenue stream from April 2009. Support Solutions anticipated this and can help your organisation to maintain financial stability in an increasingly complex environment. Whilst we acknowledge the "threat" to existing revenue sources we are also motivated to find opportunities for the development and growth of providers in these changing times. We are actively working with local authority Supporting People and Housing Benefit teams to look at the strategic use of Housing Benefit to support preventative and enabling services. We are increasingly involved in significant Tribunal and Social Security Commissioners' decisions which have national significance for providers of housing and support. We are fully conversant with HB Regulations and judgements such as Turnbull and their implications for the work of the sector. Whether you're looking for full Housing Benefit entitlements or alternative/additional streams of revenue for support, please contact or call 0121 707 7766/8881 and speak to Danny Key. |
