Michael Patterson

Michael Patterson BA, MSc, ABILD

Director

Michael has over 27 years experience in housing-related support and care. He currently specialises in Personalisation, Local Area Agreements, the changing economy of "Supporting People" and housing-related support and social care in general. He still retains an involvement in consultancy and especially in training. He has particular expertise in the developing issue of Personalisation & the new Social Care agenda and holds a Master Practitioner's certificate in NLP and the Advanced Certificate in Executive Coaching. He is also a TAP (Trainer Assessment Programme) certified trainer. His role is increasingly associated with the development of Support Solutions as a business, the objective of contributing rigorous research and thinking to the housing-related support sector, and the growth and development of Support Solutions' electronic media such as The Briefing and The Forum.

Marcia Gordon

Marcia Gordon BA.

Company Secretary

Marcia has over 18 years experience of supported housing and care. She began her career as a learning disabilities support worker (adults) and became a registered care manager within the meaning of the (then) Registered Homes Act 1984 (since superceded by the Care Standards Act). Subsequently, Marcia worked as a local authority Social Worker responsible for out-of-borough learning disabilities placements.

Marcia ensures that the company is compliant with the necessary legislative and regulatory standards. She is the mother of a young son with learning and physical disabilities.

Danny Key

Danny Key BA, MCIH.

Senior Revenue Consultant

Danny has successfully assisted numerous organisations in significantly increasing their proper housing and support revenue entitlements. This includes constructing claims, undertaking appeals, rent setting, review and reallocation. Danny has been very successful in optimising organisations' finances and improving the quality, cost effectiveness and efficiency of their Housing Benefits revenue management. Danny is increasingly recognised as a national authority on Housing Benefits Regulations and has appeared for clients at numerous Tribunals and Social Security Commissioner's hearings. He began work with Support Solutions in 2004.

John Hodges

John Hodges

Principal Consultant

John has huge experience of senior level work within the housing care and support sector. Prior to embarking on a career in consultancy he was the Supporting People Manager for Birmingham, the largest local authority in the UK. Prior to that he was Supporting People Manager for Coventry City Council.

John specialises in tendering and procurement, strategy development, project implementation, partnership and consortium arrangements, communications processes, contract negotiation and contract compliance issues. John is an effective and knowledgeable trainer.  John began work with Support Solutions in 2006

Paul Key

Paul Key DPM CQSW DRM

Revenue Consultant

Paul became a consultant in 1998 after working for 23 years in Social Services and Health, mainly in the fields of mental health and learning disabilities. Paul has significant experience in finding housing options with and for vulnerable people. He is a national expert on care home deregistration and Housing Benefit. Paul has been with Support Solutions for 5 Years.

Kris Key

Kris Key BSc.

Revenue Consultant

Kris has worked as a consultant since 2001. He has particular expertise in Housing Benefits Regulations and the optimisation of revenue streams in general. He provides a significant element of the "back office" work associated with Housing Benefits optimisation. Kris has strong IT and technical skills which are geared to the needs of our sector.

Alison Smith BSc, PGCE, MA, ABILD

Consultant & Trainer

Alison has worked for Support Solutions as a Consultant and Trainer since 2006 and has particular expertise in the QAF and Outcomes Measurement systems. She also concentrates on contract compliance and policy development and review work, often preparing provider clients for contract reviews and working with local authorities on quality and commissioning issues.  She has also been awarded TAP (Trainer Assessment Programme) certification.

Alison is a regular contributor to The Briefing and is the author of the "Daily Living Skills Programme".

Consultant

Tim began work with Support Solutions in February 2010.  With extensive knowledge and experience of the provision of the social housing sector within both the statutory and voluntary sector, Tim has more recently been involved in submissions for the tendering of services.

Tim has significant experience of developing policies and procedures as well as a detailed understanding of the requirements and implications of the revised Quality Assessment Framework.  Tim is also a TAP (Trainer Assessment Programme) certified trainer.

Emily Wightman  ABILD

Office and Events Co-ordinator

Emily began work with Support Solutions in May 2009.

Emily organises and administers Support Solutions' training events and is responsible for the general administration of the company. In addition to her work within the office, Emily also provides training support to our events. She is also a TAP (Trainer Assessment Programme) certified trainer.

Ayesha Choudhrey BSc, ABILD.

Research and Development Officer

Ayesha recently joined Support Solutions as a Researcher. She has over five years experience in the housing and Support Sector.  Currently working on launching a new pilot project called Micro Market, a ‘not for profit' support agency that provides high quality and individualised support services to new and existing micro providers. She is also responsible for the research and design work required for the Briefing (our electronic magazine that is published every two months) and Website.

Ayesha is also a TAP (Trainer Assessment Programme) certified trainer.

Dawn Little

Finance Assistant

Dawn manages the company sales ledger and also assists the finance manager to prepare the company accounts. Dawn is also responsible fro processing all invoices, chasing debts and allocating monies received for all training, consultancy and Housing Benefit Optimisation.
