New Training Events

"The Revised QAF: Linking the Thinking"
After a hugely successful national series of Briefing events on the Revised QAF we are still being asked to organise additional events for people who were unable to attend our previously advertised events.
We have therefore organised 2 new half day London events for some delegates who were on a waiting list for the original April, May and June events. The new London events will be held on 15th July at the Redbridge Foyer. You can download a location map of the Redbridge Foyer here. You can find out more about the Redbridge Foyer, including a virtual tour, by clicking here.
We are limiting the numbers on each of these Briefing events to 24 per session and are looking to use training venues which are part of the sector, rather than commercial venues, hence the use of the Redbridge Foyer. Although we are putting on these Briefing events to fulfil demand from previous events we anticipate that all places are likely to fill up quickly. You can download an event flyer & booking form by clicking on the links further down this page.
The purpose of these Briefing events is for delegates to:
- build their knowledge of the revised QAF
- apply that learning to their work situations
- to make the wider links between the Revised QAF and the significant changes taking place within housing, support and social care services
- take away our CD-ROM Resource Pack for use as a foundation for evolving and developing the QAF related work you do
Target audience:
Frontline staff, senior staff and managers and anyone who needs to understand and deal with the QAF
Learning objectives:
By the end of the session, delegates will:
- Have a clear overview of the refreshed QAF
- See how the QAF fits into the ‘bigger picture’: links to the SP outcome framework; Local Area Agreements; Comprehensive Area Assessments: Joint Strategic Needs Assessments; Personalisation
- Explore the revised standards, in particular Safeguarding and Protection from Abuse Core Objective (C1.3) and the new core objective of Client Involvement and Empowerment (C1.5)
- Identify policy and procedure updates for complying with the revised QAF
- Review the QAF minimum standards and relate these to day to day service delivery
- Identify standards that may be hard to achieve and to evidence and suggest ways to do this
- Understand and use the new QAF scoring system
- Explore good practice and excellence – given and alternative examples including maximising service user involvement in all aspects of service delivery and development
- Take part in/undertake QAF self assessments and complete forms accurately
- Gather appropriate evidence for internal assessment and to prepare for validation
- Use the QAF as a tool for service monitoring and continual improvement

Tutor presentation, discussion, group work and exercises
CD-ROM with resources for ongoing learning and cascade training
