Figures have revealed that demand for social housing in Exeter and East Devon sees thousands of people on waiting lists for somewhere to live, reports the Exeter Express and Echo.

9.8% of these households are classed as being in urgent need of housing; however 51% are classed as having ‘no housing need’ by the council.

The figures show a 23% rise in need of social housing in Exeter from the number of people in need since December 2014.
