The HelpWELL App is a free app for iOS platforms, provides an easy way for users to track their mood, anxiety and sleeping patterns.
The Students’ Centre of Health, WELLWVU (based at the West Virginia University, USA) created the app in order for students to receive direct mental healthcare.
Data about mood, anxiety and sleeping habits can be displayed on a graph and accessible from the app so users can get a better understanding of their habits and how they can improve. It also encourages users to engage in ‘wellness activities’ which aim to relieve stress levels.
Although it was designed for WVU students in mind, it can be used by anyone concerned about their mental wellness who may need monitoring and support.
The app has a ‘resources’ tab which provides links to sections of the WELLWVU website such as suicide prevention training and a support list which consists on the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and enables users to add contacts of their own so they have an easier access to support when needed.
Currently, the app is only available to iOS systems and can be downloaded onto an iPhone, iPod or iPad through the Apple store.
