An apprentice in Worcester has taken time out of his job to give back to the local community as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

Rob Walters currently works as a qualifications administration assistant for leading housing and care provider Sanctuary Group, but has left the office and headed into the community to volunteer at Worcester’s Maggs Day Centre and help give the homeless scheme a makeover, reports 24dash.  Paint 3

Mr Walters has been on hand to help out with re-decorating the interior of the centre and has also had the opportunity to meet some of the service users at the centre.

Speaking about his experience, Rob said: “It was a great opportunity to go out and make a difference in the community. Maggs Day Centre offers a fantastic service to so many people and I was pleased to be able to offer them a helping hand to brighten up the centre. It was also a great chance for me to meet some of the service users. Sanctuary has a number of schemes supporting homeless and socially isolated people so it was great to see how this type of service can help them.”

Sanctuary have organised a number of activities like this one to support National Apprenticeship Week.
