A new app launches today to help with mental health
- 03 Sep
An app aimed to help young people discuss mental health worries with their GP has been launched today.
Doc Ready is a digital tool that will allow young people to prepare as well as make the most out of mental health related visits they make to their GP's. This means that young people will know what to expect with the go to the GP for a consultation. This will be achieved through a plan, preparing them with what to say, and also record the outcomes of their appointments.
Doc Ready is a development from a partnership of numerous organisations including Neontribe, Social Spider, FutrueGov and Enabled by Design.
To help identify potential ideas and to develop, design and build the programme, Innovation Labs ran two events in 2011/12 that included young people, mental health professionals and digital designers to explore the area of young people and mental health. Further meetings and input ended with the development of Doc Ready.
Hopefully by allowing young people to feel more comfortable and confident in discussing mental health symptoms can be monitored before they become worse.
