Milestone for housing scheme supporting the homeless
- 03 Aug
A project in Stockport that helps homeless people find accommodation has helped one hundred people.
The Homefinder project, part funded by CRISIS and led by the homelessness charity H3 has helped over a hundred homeless people find accommodation, reports 24dash.
The project helps homeless people overcome the barriers they face in finding a deposit for a private landlord by offering a cashless guarantee in its place, known as a ‘bond’.
Dominic Walker, HomeFinder scheme assistant said “It’s always rewarding to help someone move into a place they can call home, many for the first time who wouldn’t ordinarily be able to access the private rented sector.”
Sheila Mason, H3 trustee added: “A lot of people would have very limited options of getting rehoused without Homefinder. It’s brilliant to see a scheme like this get such a good uptake and to have helped so many people since its foundation.”
