Two homelessness services to be investigated
- 04 Sep
Inquiries are being carried out into two south Scotland councils’ homelessness services.
The Scottish Housing Regulator is set to investigate every aspect of services offered by Dumfries and Galloway Council, whilst also examining how homeless people access help and support at Scottish Borders Council, reports the BBC.
The councils will be investigated on how people access the service and how it maintains contact with applicants.
A spokesman for Scottish Borders Council (SBC) said: "The council embraces any visit from the Scottish Housing Regulator which plays a very important role in our continuous service improvement. As previously, SBC will continue to work with the regulator in all aspects of any scrutiny visit, including this forthcoming one, which will focus on our assessment processes and contact with applicants. It would be inappropriate to comment on any anticipated findings by the regulator at this stage."
