New supported living accommodation opens for people with mental health issues in Bodmin

People with mental health issues and learning difficulties may find support in eight new supported living flats that have opened in Bodmin.
Developed by Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, a new complex of one bedroom flats, called Chynoweth, have been built on a former supported housing facility, reports the Cornish Guardian.
The creation of the eight new homes, costing almost £1 million, was overseen by landlords Advance, a national organisation with a local office in Camborne. Advance provides housing, support and employment services for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities.
Residents of Chynoweth will be supported in their tenancy by a team of workers led by Ian Cleary from Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust."I am so pleased and proud to be part of the partnership which has realised this new project. The care taken, not just with the build, but also the quality of the furnishings, decor and facilities - will be life changing for the residents,'' he said.
Ian Green is chair of Advance and welcomed guests to the opening of Chynoweth.He said: "We're delighted to have formed a partnership with Cornwall Foundation Trust and are keen to work with them further.''
