Home swap speed dating
- 27 Feb
On Valentine's Day One Vision Housing organised a speed dating style event to help people find their dream homes.
The event was a big success with a large number of people attending. Professionals from the HomeSwapper home exchange service and a number of local housing associations also attended to provide information and advice, reports 24dash.
The idea of home swapping has become popular since the introduction of the bedroom tax as many are looking to downsize in order to avoid the under occupancy charges.
In June 2012 One Vision created a ‘Home Swapper Officer' role which involves helping people register on HomeSwapper.co.uk and supporting them whilst they shortlisted properties that matched their requirements and helping them with their move.
Cathy Hughes, One Vision Housing's Home Swapper Officer, said: "Home Swapping is a new initiative, but becoming more popular all the time. Everyone is looking for something different, so there's always a chance of finding a match. Anyone who is struggling to find the right home should definitely get in touch."
Since the introduction of home swapping One Vision has assisted over 104 households to swap homes, and many more are still progressing.
