£60m community investment project by social landlord

City West Housing Trust has launched a £60m investment project to transform its communities in Salford.
Improvement work will replace or improve community facilities which includes fences and hedges, upgrade street lighting, create drop kerbs and better car parking areas alongside a boost in security and green areas, reports Inside Housing.
Currently it is being consulted with all communities to identify where people feel the money would be best spent. The project will take place over the next four years and the social landlord hopes to transform 31 communities in total.
David Cummins, director of neighbourhoods and communities at City West, said the Environmental Improvement Programme is "one of the biggest ever investments in Salford's open spaces. Our customers are our priority and we have made a promise to ensure our neighbourhoods remain vibrant and pleasant places to live."
