LifeKit helps customers with Welfare Reforms
- 23 Jan
Halton Housing Trust have set up a new online tool to help customers struggling with welfare reform changes.
LifeKit, which has been launched by the housing trust this month, is a self-help guide for customers which proved help, advice, support and helpful tips in a number of aspects of life. The focus is on money matters to help those concerned about welfare reform.
There are five sections on LifeKit; Manage Your Money, Your Home, Your Job, Get Online and Save Money. This offers customers the chance to live better and save money, reports 24dash.
Noel Sharpe, Executive Director for Customer Services said: "We wanted to offer something for customers as a direct and immediate response to the welfare reform changes. We felt an online toolkit would bring everything into one place and be easily accessible at a time when our customers most need it. LifeKit made perfect sense. We are really pleased with the outcome and know our customers will make use of it."
You can access the toolkit via the Halton Housing website or http://lifekit.haltonhousing.org/introduction/ and customers can view the toolkit at any time and on any device giving access on the go.
This new system gives a variety of information which enables customers to create and build CV's, have access to job vacancy links, access meal planners, see the latest local offers and see the latest tools to help save money.
Key features include:
• Budgeting and welfare benefits advice
• Help with finding a job and advice on childcare
• Cheaper contents insurance
• Affordable warmth advice
• Assisted furniture scheme
• Food Banks / New Shoots scheme
• Links to external agencies/ voluntary groups e.g. CAB , Halton Voluntary Services Job centre Age UK
