- 05 Jul
A survey reveals that half of the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) members interrogated believe there is a housing crisis in their community; 24 Housing, reports.
The research will be unveiled at the CLA's first Housing Summit, today with landowners who develop properties around rural communities in attendance.
The research consists of the following information:
- Over 2/5 of CLA members are looking to develop additional properties within the next five years
- 63% said they'll build more new homes with support from the local authority
- CLA says supporting small private developers can help to end the shortage of housing in rural areas
According to CLA president, Ross Murray:
"The rural housing challenge we face is to deliver a range of much-needed homes which will reinvigorate our rural areas across England and Wales and help to build a stronger, more sustainable countryside."
