Housing association supports needs of older people
- 21 Jan
A housing association based in London has been praised for its specialist homes and services which serve the needs of older people.
The acclaimed Community Trust Housing (CTH), part of the Network Housing Group, has been noted for its hard efforts by the British Irish Council (BIC) social inclusion workstream and various other officials from across the UK, Scotland, Wales, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. These officials are working together to share their practices of social inclusion of older people, 24dash reports.
CTH's Executive Director, Delroy Rankin stated, "As a social landlord as well as a developer we understand the need to provide quality homes which can help promote sustainable communities. What we aim to deliver in Stockwell, in partnership with Lambeth Council, is an active and rewarding lifestyle for those who live there".
Andrea Nicholas-Jones and Mike Liddle, joint chairs of the BIC social inclusion workstream also stated, "We're very pleased to get the opportunity to see at first hand the work that Network Housing Group is doing in Stockwell, and the benefits that their investment over the last seven years has delivered to people across London, Hertfordshire and the South East".
Its report will be published in March following a meeting of ministers from all the administrations in Edinburgh. It will highlight examples of best practice from these administrations and will focus on how by working together, the third sector can maintain communities by making them more socially cohesive and how it can make this service more mainstream.
