Residents in supported accommodation in Canterbury could be affected by new housing rules
- 10 Sep
Under new rules proposed by the council, people with vulnerabilities living in supported accommodation in Canterbury could be no longer able to go on the Housing Needs Register when they leave their property.
Currently anyone moving out of supported accommodation would be able to join the Housing Needs Register, however new plans will see that only particular people with vulnerabilities will be placed on the register, reports the Canterbury Times.
The changes are amongst many amendments to the scheme and will be discussed on the 16th September. Other proposals include changes to the banding for concealed household and bedroom entitlements where two same sex siblings would be able to share a room up to the age of 21.
