Community Support Worker

Shaw Healthcare are looking for Community Support Workers to support vulnerable adults to live as independently as possible in their own homes. You will be supporting our service users with tasks including domestic duties, preparing meals, administering medication, as well as assisting them with their personal care including washing and bathing. Care is delivered on an individual basis in-line with the service users personalized support guidelines, but one thing in common runs through everything that we do, that's our care principles which center on 'wellness, happiness, and kindness'.
You will be making a real difference to people's lives and be playing an active role in the community. You will need your own unrestricted access to a vehicle as you'll be moving from call to call under the direction of your experienced Care Coordinator. You'll get paid for your mileage on top of a competitive hourly rate for the hours that you work so you needn't worry about the cost of petrol.
They deliver care where it's needed, when its needed, so we need a flexible and dedicated team to make this possible, and hours of work range from early mornings right up into the late evening. As we support people who move into and out of hospital as well as residential and nursing services, the packages of care we deliver can change at short notice so it's important that you are flexible in your attitude and approach to work as well as your actual hours.
They don't ask for any formal qualifications or experience of working in care before, only that you have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for supporting people to live their life to the full - it's a fantastic feeling and could be just what you are looking for. If you have NVQ/QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care and have previous experience in care then you will leap straight onto our top salary, but if you haven't got it don't worry, they'll support you to get where you want to through our dedicated Training and Learning Academy.
As the role involves working with vulnerable people, including delivering personal care of an intimate nature, your employment will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks including referencing and criminal record checks.
