"This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team, multi-disciplinary team, offering specialist support to parents who have substance misuse problems."
This will include liaising with Children and Family Services as required in order to manage risk and develop joint packages of care when appropriate.
A key part of the role is offering advice and guidance to colleagues around substance misuse and parenting.
You will also be co-ordinating care packages for people wishing to undertake in-patient detoxification and residential rehabilitation programmes, including facilitating specialist parent and child placements.
"We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to offer a specialist substance misuse social work service to parents living in the London Borough of Newham."
You will have a good understanding of the needs of people with substance misuse problems the impact this may have on a person's ability to provide good parenting.
You will have some previous experience of working in substance misuse and this will include some experience of working with parents with substance misuse problems.
You will be required to hold a professional social work qualification and be registered with the HCPC.
