The Job
Salary: £29,601 to £38,961 p/a plus £3,000 p/a market supplement
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Closing Date: 26/4/13 @ 23:59Following the findings of the Munro Review, Newham is changing the way in which we deliver effective social work. We are developing the right toolkit for our social workers, supporting them from their introductory training through to their continuing professional development in advanced practice and management. Our approach ensures that social workers are confident in risk assessments, are delivering effective services are supervised effectively and that we are achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
We are enhancing the opportunities for learning and development, self-reflection, good practice and continuous improvement. Using a systemic approach we are providing a framework of training, assessment and intervention that is clear, coherent and evidence based. Utilising these tools and techniques, our social workers will be supported to accurately assess situations in order to intervene in a positive way that affects change and builds resilience for families.

The Person
Are you a Social Work practitioner, with sound experience and knowledge, or a desire to develop this, through court work, child protection, children in need and looked after children focused practice?
Do you want to be instrumental in bringing about long lasting systemic change that supports and builds the resilience of our children and families?
Do you want to use your skills and develop your ability to deal with complex situations to bring about the change families need and secure positive outcomes for children and young people?
