How nonprofits and charities can use social media internally

With social media being a great and free tool, we thought we'd show you how your organisation can use it internally.
Whilst social media is great at connecting you with the outside world and people you work with, it also presents new and cheap ways to communicate internally too. Here are just a few ways to communicate internally via social media:
1) A Facebook Group - A private Facebook group with all of your employees included is a great way to utilise this Facebook function. If the group is set to private nobody will be able to search for it or see it unless they're added to the group. A great idea if a lot of your employees are on Facebook already.
2) Skype - If your organisation has offices dotted around the country Skype is a great way to hold meetings without the hassle of travelling. Also, you can use Skype's instant messaging feature alongside its video conferencing feature to have real-time conversations.
3) Webinars - Do you want everyone in your organisation to go through the same training but can't find the time? A webinar, which could even be uploaded to YouTube and be set to private (with access via a link sent in an email), is a great way for your employees to receive training and information, without having to attend events.
