Instagram is getting bigger every day and with around 300 million users, it makes it one of the fastest growing social networks at the moment.
It has beat Twitter in terms of number of users, but it is currently outperforming in terms of engagement as well.
Instagram's engagement is 50 times higher than Twitter. The difference is a large one, but isn't very surprising as it is a fact that images generate more engagement than any other type of content on social media. This can be a huge advantage for your social organisation.
It is important that your service users, followers and supporters are updated with your latest posts and can contact you if need be. With so many social media platforms to choose from, it is important that your social organisation maintains flexibility by using more than one of these networks. This can help to reach out to more people, and widen your social media audience.
Instagram is famous for its user-generated social images, which catch our attention easier than words do. Also, with the help of Instagram, it is a lot more effective to share information, news alerts, events and so on, with a digitally story-telling, moment-capturing image.
Furthermore, creating a hashtag on Instagram encourages users to submit their photos and be personable and relatable on Instagram.
Hashtags enable users to submit content and if your social organisation features its favourite user photos, it will show that you're on the social network to contribute more than just your own photos.
Using Instagram can help to increase your social media engagement as you connect with more people and invoke genuine people-to-people interactions.
