Amnesty International's U.K. Board Chairman resigns over offensive tweets.
The chariman of Amnesty International, Ciarman Helferty has resigned from his position after an uproar occurred over his tweets containing jokes related to mental health.
His tweets, which were exposed by The Political Scrapbook, faced many complaints from people finding his jokes disrespectful and to go against what Amnesty International stands for. Helferty made jokes surrounding both schizophrenia and OCD which met with negative reactions from the general public.
