CHANGE – Helping people with learning disabilities understand Cancer
CHANGE, a charity working towards equal rights for disabled people, win BMA Patient Information Resource of the Year Award for their book series helping people with learning disabilities understand cancer.
The BMA is a professional association and trade union and advise the public on matters relating to BMA policy. The BMA Patient Information Resource Awards aim to encourage the production of accessible, well-designed and clinically balanced patient information.
The series of books were released in 2011 are written for people the carers of people with learning disabilites, helping them to understand symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, and end of life care when dealing with cancer.
The six books are available entirely free of charge when ordered from Macmillan Cancer Support.
