The London Housing Foundation has launched the fifth ‘Atlas of Services for Homeless People in London’ due to a warning that almost 36 agencies have been lost in the sector. Home For The Homeless

The Atlas maps voluntary sector agencies providing direct services to homeless people without dependent children.

The LHF is a charitable trust who assists agencies which serve the homelessness sector in London, to help build futures for homeless people, reports 24dash.

LHF chair Simon Dow, who is also chief executive of the Guinness Partnership, said: “This year’s Atlas show just how much change there has been in the sector over the last five years; we have lost 36 agencies, floating support services are so concentrated that three agencies almost have a monopoly and we are seeing existing providers expanding to work across a far greater geographical area.”

LHF acting director Margaret Malcolm said: “The Atlas provides a fascinating picture of the sector we work in. This year we have again commissioned two ‘anonymous’ leader articles from a provider and a commissioner giving their unconstrained views on what is happening to services for homeless people in London.”
