    Plans for the redevelopment of the Princess Royal Barracks at Deepcut has been approved by the Surrey Heath Borough Council.

    The site is presently a major British Army base and headquarters of the Royal Logistics Corps.

    Some of its buildings will be converted into apartments and the creation of a new ‘village centre'.

    Its end result will be the provision of 1,200 new homes.

    24dash.com reported that:

    “Deepcut was announced as surplus to military requirements by the MoD in 2008 after detailed analysis revealed that moving operations from the site to Worthy Down Barracks in Winchester would provide best value for money.

    The land will be developed by the private sector with work expected to start by 2016.”
