New supported living accommodation for young people in Banbury
A £1.8m transformation of a supported living scheme is helping young people at risk in Banbury.
Sanctuary Supported Living’s Banbury Foyer has undergone an refurbishment and has installed new self-contained bedsits which will provide accommodation for eight more young people needing supported accommodation, reports 24dash.
Each bedsit has a bedroom, kitchen and ensuite with specially adapted bedsits for tenants who have disabilities.
SSL local service manager Louise Powell said: “This modernisation programme has provided some cutting-edge facilities for our tenants which will allow us to provide additional secure accommodation as we reach out to support even more young people.”
Cherwell District Council’s director of development, Calvin Bell said: “Cherwell was pleased to be able to support this initiative by providing funding to aid the redevelopment the Foyer, and to ensure that it continues to provide the very best accommodation for young people. We continue to work with Sanctuary to support the Foyer as well as other accommodation within Cherwell.”
